cast on 80 stitches in the round.
with stitche markers dividing each half. knit in the round until the vest reaches from just above the waist to just below the armpit. divide front and back evenly, knit stockinette stitch on each half until the armholes are as deep as you wish. rejoin front and back, stitch in the round for several rows, the straps will be where the front and back are rejoined. cast off. voila!
I used lion brand homespun and Sensations Angel Hair yarns held together on a size thirteen needle. I am a US size 16 so adust number of stitches accordingly.
